Looking for housekeeper / babysitter |
A very nice family is looking for housekeeper / babysitter for one 11-year old girl. Great job with great benefits.
Where: Ardsley, New York (Westchester - close to bus; train)
Time: End of Aug. / early Sept. - however, negotiable for the right person
Position: Live-in, 5-days a week (Mon-Fri). The person needs to be sometimes flexible as we travel - e.g. staying later on Friday and leaving on Sat. morning sometimes. If that's the case, you can come a bit later on Monday mornings. Salary is consistent with market; very generious on paid holidays; many evenings free. Great living space - own, very large room with windows; couch; bed; dressers; all new bed linens; television. Bathroom is to be shared with child. The individual must speak basic English - to be able to converse with the child; and school, etc.
Responsibilities:
1. Primary Role is of Housekeeper: Taking care of 2400 sq. foot home - overall, family is very neat. Cleaning - all areas of the house; laundry; ironing; cooking primarily for the child; light shopping - mostly for the child. However, always nice if a person cooks well and can sometimes make meals for the family. Overall, we do our own cooking.
2. Watching over an 11-year old: Our daughter is very independent and is in school and after-school activities for most of the day - up until 4:00 sometimes 6:00 p.m. Thus, help needed in getting her ready for school in the morning; preparing all of her meals; helping to coordinate play dates - for most part handled by parents, however, sometimes it's helpful; sometimes getting he ready for bed; making sure she is doing her homework on time
About the family: We're very friendly; happy; Belgian and Russian parents. Our daughter is a very nice girl - great student; fun and kind. We've had 3 nannies over the past 11 years - and remain very close with all families - visiting; writing; calling.
