Management Accountant Wakefield based 6months TemporaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join on a 6month temporary basis in one of the well-known Academy Trust. The key role here is to support the Chief Finance Officer to comply with the requirements of the Academies Financial Handbook, and other associated legislation/regulations.In the academies, they pride themselves on upholding the dignity and unique human value of every person as they strive for excellence in education; gifts and talents are shared between their academies as they aim to provide the highest standards for all their children and young people, aged 3 to 19 years throughout the Trust. As a trust, they have a vision that goes beyond their individual academies and that changes perception from my academy to our academy. Working collaboratively, each academy benefits from others’ strengths and expertise within the Trust and practically from the services provided and procured centrally.Key duties:    Liaise regularly with academy colleagues to ensure Academies are compliant with regard to the requirements of the relevant legislation and guidelines.    Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the Trust Finance Strategy to ensure good practice is embedded in Academies.    Ensure timely and accurate Academy budgeting and accounting to support effective financial management, ensure that finances for the apprenticeship levy are properly reconciled and provide the appropriate support for pensions administration.    Liaise with external auditors to prepare year end accounts and ensure accurate and timely production of documentationTo be successful for this role, you must have knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, part qualified or qualified with a recognised accounting qualification but mainly confident, methodical and organised. Experience in academies is highly desirable but will look at anyone with public sector background.
