The Controller position is a permanent opportunity in the Everett, Washington region. This role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services will be essential for this role, and a creative type who can lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. This is a great opportunity for exceptional compensation, benefits and potential for career growth.Your responsibilities- Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis- Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties- Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible- Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies- Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual- Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations- Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll- Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals- Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month- Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as neededRequirements- High attention to detail- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field- Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills- Excellent communication and organizational skills- Prior work done in public accounting is desired- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus- Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges- CPA/MBA preferred- Ability to meet deadlines- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds- Comprehension of Cash Deposits- Weekly Payroll experience highly valued- Earlier work involving Vendor Records- Practical knowledge of Annual Budget- Foundational knowledge in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation- Payroll tax experience highly desired- Adeptness in Quarterly Taxes- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience highly preferred- Hands-on experience with Annual External Audit- QuickBooks experience preferred- Solid understanding of general ledger- Previous experience working with Purchase Orders- Good understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)- Proficiency in bank reconciliations- Background working with Prepare Invoices- Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Financial Statements- General familiarity with Form 1099- Experience with expense reports- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
