Your new companyA family run consultancy who have managed to keep the family feel within the office environmentThis is not your usual lettings agency. With a focus on customer care and service, their mission is to provide a one-stop-shop for all commercial and residential property needs. Their friendly, non-commission based surveyors will safely guide clients through the lettings process, from selecting the perfect property to agreeing terms and handing over the keys.Your new roleThey are seeking to recruit a full-time Building Surveyor to join their management team. You will have relevant experience in undertaking the delivery of both small and large scale development projects and will be guiding and supporting their in-house construction and maintenance teams. This is a key role that would appeal to someone who thrives as an independent, motivated team leader in charge of a multi disciplined construction team. Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years PQE.Ability to understand a tenants fit out needs and how this would translate into the physical premises.To deliver the provision of Quantity Surveying / Cost Management and project management services on a range of new builds, refurbishments and programmes of work, from inception to handover.Support the lead QS/EA on projects, providing service delivery.Responsible for pre and post project commercial management and reporting.Prepare Client cost reports and report on change during the life of a project.Assist in the development of Client relationships.Experience of either JCT or NEC contracts.Ability to communicate effectively with both Clients, contractors, and internal staff.An understanding of Health & Safety legislation and managing this across the Estate, including CDM.Ability to work with and produce CAD drawings. Where specialist software is used IT skills can be learnt on the job and training can be provided.What you'll need to succeedExperience with Private and Public Sector clients.BSc in Building Surveying (or equivalent).Ideally MRICS or similar accreditation (or working towards).3+ years working in a professional consultancy environment.Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other role-related software packages.IT skills, such as BIM / CAD measure, Auto CAD, Cost Planning softwareAbility to form effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.Confident, outgoing, with the drive to succeed and develop your role within the office.This role has excellent prospects for an individual who has a strong ambition to progress and enjoys working collaboratively within a vibrant team.
