Job Summary: Permanent junior MySQL/MSSQL DBA urgently required in Sydney CBD

A great opportunity exists for a Junior DBA to join this dynamic and innovative software development
company operating in the payments processing industry. You will play a key role in providing skilled
technical services ensuring the provision of quality DBA and CRM support services for corporate's
information systems.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Ensure effective and efficient operational support for new and existing databases through prompt
attention to incident and service requests
Working in conjunction with a senior database administrator, contribute to the continual improvement
of systems by ongoing analysis and implementation of enhancements to databases whilst adhering to
Group’s IT Operations approved policy, processes, procedures and methodologies
Preparation of technical documentation and manuals for new and existing databases
Ensure that the creation and amendment of all databases comply with design guidelines relating to referential integrity, indexes, archiving and backups
Monitor and report inconsistencies in synchronisation of MySQL and MSSQL databases
Perform administration of CRM applications
To be successful for this role you will have:
A Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science with at least 18 months subsequent
relevant experience; or extensive experience and expertise in relevant IT or
Computer Science; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Alternatively, Certified MySQL or MSSQL Database Administrator with 2-4 years relevant experience
Experience supporting databases
Javascript knowledge
Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
Ability to work well within a team environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work to deadlines and a proactive approach to task management
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The current technical environment includes:
MSSQL 2000
MySQL 5.x
Netsuite
We are looking for a person with junior DBA skills and a passion for providing high quality customer
service. Knowledge of CRM software would be a bonus.
This is a position within a small and fun team of IT professionals where your thirst for knowledge
and experience will provide you the opportunity to develop and learn new skills through the implementation of new technology.
