The Copy Editor will edit proofread and perform quality assurance checks of patient education materials as assigned by the editorial teamDuties and Responsibilities:    Copyedit educational materials to detect inconsistencies or medical inaccuracies    Proofread educational materials for clarity readability understandability consistent voice correct grammar and punctuation and adherence to templates and house style    Review graphics and graphic callouts for accuracy and appropriateness    Notify clinical staff of incomplete metadata linked to educational materials    Work and edit within the content management system    Deliver content on schedule    Communicate clearly with editorial staff on timelines and quality of content    Perform other duties as assignedRequirementsEssential Qualifications:    Bachelors degree in English communications journalism or related field    Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition and the AMA Manual of Style 11th edition    At least 3 years experience in medical publishing    Strong writing and communication skills    Excellent knowledge of medical terminology    Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:    Experience in plain language or health literacy editing    Experience communicating with and working with clinical professionals    Experience working in a highly matrixed corporate environment    Ability to adapt quickly to changing processes and procedures when applicable
